Axe Cop and Bat Warthog Man!

If you don't read Axe Cop, you really should. It's drawn by Ethan Nicolle and written by his six-year-old brother, Malachai. It's tons of fun!

I just finished a pin-up for Dark Horse's Axe Cop Volume 3, a collection of the web episodes. (Oops, maybe it won't be in there after all.) My art is based on this particular story. Axe Cop doesn't normally wear a cat suit, but he's in stealth mode!

Halloween Comes Early

Well, two days early. Screamland trade paperback, from Image Comics, hits the stands Oct. 29. It's a collection of the fun, single issues created by friends Harold Sipe and Hector Casanova.

I contributed a pin-up (to the deluxe edition) using an element from the story. There's the mention of a website where monsters cheapen themselves for the pleasure of others. Not my usual kind of thing, but I figured what the heck and created Miss Lagoon below.

(Btw, the "click here to enter" doesn't really do anything. It just adds to the charming illusion...)

Hack Job

Whenever I draw a pinup for someone, I always feel compelled to incorporate a tiny bit of storytelling into it. As a kid, I starting drawing only because it's a great way to share ideas.

This art was a pinup for Season of the Witch, an Image mini-series created/written by my friend Jai Nitz. (Sorry, I don't remember who drew it. This was published a couple of years ago and I've moved since then. My comics are very disorganized.) The story in his book was that of a teenage girl who was thrown into a fantasy world and had to deal with the consequences.

The story in my art is supposed to be one of a teenage girl who is mercilessly and brutally hacking a creature to death when suddenly... "Oooo something pretty..!"

A Throne of Zombies

Today I’m sharing a pin-up I did for Gearhead #3, by Dennis Hopeless and Kevin Mellon. The comic mini-series came out in 2007, with the collection due out sometime this year.

The character is a sad man named Evil Ted. He has the unlikely power to create servant, zombie duplicates of himself. I thought this would be a good way to show it in one image.
