Weird Marvel Comics Ad - Ricochet Racers!

I recently ran across Marvel Spotlight #32 (1976) in my basement. The bottom blurb states "Positively the most shocking ending you'll read this month!"

Well, I flipped through the story and wasn't very shocked. I think the blurb might be referring to the actual last page in the book, an ad. It shocked me in its oddness. Click to enlarge.

I don't know how you feel about it, but in my head, it reads something like this...

Perfectly in line with what my brain was hearing when I read the first version. The "trigger team" was the goofiest. Thanks for the re-write, Kerry...more, more more!

Hey! I had one of those, and remember thinking that it was awesome.

I loved your rewrite. Priceless.

Brilliant.

And yet your rewrite still did not scrub away the thought of just how big IS a hole that's big enough even for Captain America?

You know, those things probably would have just shot through the existing spaces in the web, now that I think about it. Like shooting a net with a bullet.

Thom, you're awesome for having one.

I know I'm late to the game but I had these as a kid. Wish I had held on to them.

Actually, they did ricochet across the floor and into the little flat surface before the target.
Funny, nonetheless.

Hey man, that's the first appearance of Spider Woman! She turns to the side of good in issue 32.

Shocking is how much that comic is worth in Mint condition...

DUDE! I had those and I loved, LOVED them as a kid. Why? Because you're absolutely right; they were a car AND bullet - fired from a giant gun!! And don't forget, they also smashed through stuff AND had a cape. A CAPE!!

I LOVE THIS. It's the most tear jerking, snot producing, hilarious thing I've ever read. I still laugh every time I think about it.

Your whole blog is hilarious and I love Halo and Sprocket. Good work!
