When I first sketched this out, I had Batman with a starter gun. But, then I remembered he carried a gun in his first adventures, so I made it a pistol he actually had in an old comic panel. :)

I was going to comment on Batman having a gun, but you're right- he doesn't have any hangups with them in the beginning
