Animated Superman #1

Whenever I see Superman #1 from 1939, I remember how Superman could only jump in his first adventures, not fly. That's where we get the whole "able leap buildings in a single bound" thing. This cover would have had to been timed just right to get him in a cool looking pose!

I had the urge to animate it, so I did.

A split second later and the cover would have looked like this.

It's just amazing how Superman went from jumping buildings to moving planets. :)

Absolutely LOVE your animated covers and really look forward to them. They show such whimsy and intimate knowledge of the subject material and mythos.

Very creative. Would be nice if all the original strips from the start were animated like you did with this. The early efforts to present Superman are still the best to me. Of course the Fleischer Superman animated series are marvelous. Very much like the comics at that time. It was a treat when they would show them in our area. And with Budd Colier's voice. Superb.
