All My "Avengers Circle" Commissions

Back in 2023, I drew a commission of Marvel's 1960’s heroes taking the place of the MCU’s team in the first Avengers movie.

Based on this memorable scene... 

People seemed to enjoy my rendition and soon I was commissioned to draw a Justice League of America version!

Then, a different person wanted one of their favorite 1990's Avengers team.

Soon, I received a request to create the scene using humor mascots from various companies.

After a while, a patron asked for a version using various monster-hosts from a variety of horror comics/magazines.

Okay, that's probably enough of riffing on the Avengers movie. Wait! There's more! I was asked to draw a version using Marvel characters from the cheesy TV shows in the 70's and 80's. (Black Widow is from a show that was never made. Angela Bowie, David Bowie's then-wife, bought the rights to a Daredevil TV series. Promotional still photos were taken, but an actual pilot was never filmed.)

Have you ever heard of the "Great Lake Avengers"? Fortunately, I had. Someone asked for a commission of them! Happy to do it.

And last, but not inferior, is this team-- The Inferior Five!

A Couple of New Commissions

Newest commissions. This was request was for drawing Superman and Lois Lane together. The situation was left up to me.

And this was a request for Green Arrow and Black Canary. I decided to draw a classic battle pose. Well, mostly.

DC/Marvel Treasury Editions Commission Edition

 I think that title makes sense. Here's a couple of commissions requested by the same person--

Underdog! Spider-Ham! Darkwing Duck! Hulk Bunny! Both are funny animal versions of two classic Treasury Editions!

I'm sure many of us thought the characters should have been switched, Superman vs. Hulk and Batman vs. Spider-Man. Those team-ups did happen later, but these were the first!

More Stylish than a Tin Foil Hat!

I didn't spend much time on this, quickly pulling various things from the internet. But, I had to better envision the hat I dreamt about last night.

My dream had a generic alien, but I thought Marvin would look good!

BAT-HULK!!

The very first Batman comic I owned was The Brave and the Bold #68. It’s an odd story where Batman turns into “Bat-Hulk.” He’s suddenly bulky and has molten-hot hands! I’ve long held a fondness for him and had the urge to do a drawing. You can read a little more about it at the 13th Dimension.

The Story of Bigfoot

Yikes! It's been a year since I've posted here. I currently share new work on Facebook, Instagram, X, and Bluesky. I plan to post here much more often in 2026. In fact, this is a great way to kick off the year--

I'm excited to be part of a Kickstarter campaign that goes live today! It has an amazing lineup of creators, many whom you will recognize. The project is called ORPHAN WORKS. As the site says, “Cartoonists so often have unpublished stories sitting in their files. Now, at last, you'll get to see them too!” To give you a taste, I've posted the first page of a Bigfoot story I contributed.
