Ha! I'm digging deep into nerdville on this one.
There was a period from the late 50's into the early 60's where crazy things happen to DC heroes. I thought it would be funny if some of them happened at the same time! Here's the covers for reference--
I remember the Rainbow Batman story. I used to have it in two editions. One was a b/w reprint the size of a regular paperback book, with two panels per page, and the other was an old Batman 80-pg. Giant.

ReplyDeleteBrilliant, affectionate, tribute to what we loved as kids. Yes it was a load of 7 year old pap but sooo good!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments!
ReplyDeleteBWA-HA-HA!
ReplyDeleteVery funny. I was aware of the Batman story but not the others.
ReplyDeleteDC had kind of an uncomfortable attraction to using fatness as a story element in the Silver Age, I'd noticed. Like the non-cover story in one Jimmy Olsen comic has him meeting a formerly fat friend of his from back in they day and they hit it off, but nope, she's still fat and had just hired someone else to get revenge or something.
