Super Embarrassing

I made a couple of submissions to Threadless.com. These parodies have been bouncing around in my head awhile. I decided to finally get them out.

I drew a version of the next image many, many years ago. But, it's really not worth bringing up. (Unless you remember it. If you do, try to forget it.)

If you'd like buy these as T-shirts, you need to vote for the designs to make them available.  Go vote here for the man, and go vote here for the woman. EDIT: Voting is now over. I'll let you know if/when shirts are made and available. EDIT 2: The man art is now available as Shirts, iPhone cases, and Wall Art! (No longer available.) EDIT 3: You can now buy the woman art at TeePublic. CLICK HERE! Wow, I need to do a blog post telling the story of these guys. It takes twists and turns.

Btw, you know what looks wrong? Chest hair...

I thought it would make it funnier, but instead, it merely disturbed me.

  1. You come to realize chest hair isn't always worth it!

  3. It mightn't have made it funnier, but it certainly made it sexier.

    Aw yeah.

  4. what, no chest hair for wonder woman?

  5. Make the chest hair one a shirt that says "This looks like a job for...Sean Connery!"

  6. Kerry, the WW version has been getting a lot of play of facebook...

  7. Thanks, Walaka. Good to know. Hopefully there's a mention of Threadless in the posts.

  8. Thanks especially for the first pic - something like this has been in my mind ever since watching 'Smallville' end, but I cannot draw. Now I found your drawing through a link from momsReadcomics.

  10. any chance these'll become available as prints, huh?

  11. Any chance you could do this in a print? Love it!

  12. When I submitted these to Threadless, they have 90 days to decide whether or not to use them. If they don't, I may very well make prints. :)

  13. If you make a print of the Wonder gal one, I will buy one.

  14. Heard you won. Congrats

  15. Thanks. I've heard a rumor that if you check out the Threadless booth at the Cincinnati Comic Expo (www.cincinnaticomicexpo.com) this weekend, you might come across some of my stuff...

  16. Kerry, more life for your brilliant WW art. She's been reborn on Facebook as Binder Woman! Protector of the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and defender of working moms who cook but don't use assault weapons.

  17. You should have made WW braless just saying, but I still enjoy both drawings!!

  18. WHERE ARE THE NIPPLES

  19. Any plans to make this a print? I'd love a copy of it framed!

  20. I like the one with chest hair...

  21. If you feel like making prints of the Wonder Woman piece, I'd love to buy one :)

  22. Oh, if only I had discovered you a year ago! I would totally have voted for the woman t-shirt! And so would my boss, a couple of coworkers and several other friends! I want one sooooooo much! Maybe.... could you cafe press it?

  23. Have you seen this? Looks like somebody took you art and switched the words.

  24. No. I did not know that. Thanks, David.

  25. Some people might have labelled the bra scene with Wonder Woman sexist, but I find it refreshingly less sexist than most comic books because you give her realistically-sized and respectfully believable breasts!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thanks for stating that. I could have gone over-the-top cheesecake, but instead I show a 50's-60's bra, (which, for some reason, is comical to me).

    ReplyDelete
  27. Will the wonderwoman one ever be available as a poster, on threadless or should I just give up and buy the superman one?

    ReplyDelete
  28. There's something almost funnier to me in that they're saying 'crap'... I don't think that was a thing in the 50's and 60's (the expression used that way, I mean). And I love your lettering just as much as the drawings. Fantastic job! :)

  29. Lovin your parody. Congrats! Now you're famous in tumblr. Just so you know. ~the lovers from tumblr

  33. Hi Kerry,

I love your comic book parody images! I just found the Wonder Woman image online yesterday. I read in comments from a couple years ago that you were thinking of doing t-shirts. I would buy several of the Wonder Woman image if they were available, and copies of prints, as well.

    Let me know!

    Best,
    Elizabeth
