I'm somewhat a Tigra fan, so I made myself a post-Halloween Tigra Clock. Which, admittedly, isn't as cool as my Galactic clock. (However it was more of a pain to Photoshop away all the lettering. Yikes.)
Btw, do any of my four readers know who the artists were on this great 70's cover? I'm guessing it was penciled by Gil Kane, but I'm not sure about the inks. Tom Palmer? Klaus Janson maybe?
The GCD says you're probably right about Gil Kane, and the inks are probably Bernie Wrightson. Looks like they're not completely sure though.
ReplyDeleteI guess I can't fault your thing for Tigra. As far as B-list Marvel heroines go, I always had a thing for Hellcat and Valkyrie.
ReplyDeleteYes, I read a lot of The Defenders.
And I certainly would have guessed Kane as the penciller.
Now, you wanna read about a dude with a SERIOUS Tigra jones, click here:

Wow, Kevin. How did you even know about that link?
ReplyDeleteI'm a former reporter. Stumbling across stuff on the Internet, I mean, knowing how to research on the Internet is part of my training.
ReplyDeleteKerry,
ReplyDeletewww.comics.org makes it sound like Nick Caputo did that cover...

His work looks kinda like Gil Kane's, especially on that cover.
John Young
Okay, I had to check into this a little deeper. I believe the true answer is...
ReplyDeletePencils by Howard Chaykin, with inks by Bernie Wrightson!
One source is an old Overstreet Price Guide, volume 22 from 1992. It's noted by the Marvel Chillers listing.
I haven't been fully comfortable guessing Gil Kane. Tigra isn't as dynamically posed as most of his figures.
