I continue to work on my 160 page monster comic, but I took a break to draw something that's been in the back of my mind for a while. My friend Anna Maria Cool recently mentioned she suspected Batman was a hoarder. The seed was planted. I knew I wouldn't stop thinking about it until I drew something about it. I can stop thinking about it now. Click to enlarge.
Btw, the objects on the bottom of page 1 are all from actual Batman stories; Detective Comics #244, Detective Comics #235, Detective Comics #241, respectively. (Disrespectively?)
Man, this made me laugh. HARD. Love your work. Thanks for starting my week off great. :)
ReplyDeleteTERRIFIC! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYes!
ReplyDeleteI love this so much, right down to the coloring bleeding onto Batman's chin
ReplyDeleteAnother fine strip! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! I had to look twice to realise this wasn't by the original artist. Great talent!
ReplyDeletePerfect.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant.
ReplyDeleteFunny!
ReplyDeleteI think you nailed it! The old "My-parents-were-murdered-and-this-is-how-cope" line is just a cover for Bruce's hoarding compulsion.
ReplyDeleteGreat Comic!
ReplyDeleteL.O.L.
As a Hoarding Disorder researcher I find this inappropriately HILARIOUS (and frighteningly accurate!). Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteWow, the comics style takes me back to my youth! And the premise makes SO much sense. Thanks for the laugh and the wonderful artwork.
ReplyDeleteOh. My. God. Freakin' hilarious!!! Take it from a COH (Child of a Hoarder) - you nailed it!
ReplyDeleteI loved Peter Baldwin's comment too!
Bravo!!!
Stupenda!
ReplyDeleteDo you start with a stick figure?
ReplyDeletePlease respond!!
Gavin, I start was very rough pencil sketches. The figures aren't really stick figures. They are ugly, bad drawings, which I trace into better pencils, which I then ink into slightly better images.
ReplyDeleteAlright, thanks!
DeleteHAHAHA, This is fantastic. I love it. Great art!

ReplyDeleteWould you be ok with me printing this and hanging it on my wall? What size should it be, ideally?
